We received this message today from MB senior management. The best news here is that Penso engineering has purchased the intellectual property rights of rear steer mechanism.

Mike & Paul
We just wanted to give you an update on the progress of the Euro 5 Vito Taxi Service Measure. The Service Measure remains a top priority at Mercedes-Benz Vans and, as you saw on your recent visit, has undergone extensive development. The rigorous testing and validation programme that is in progress is testament to the quality of the upgrade. Whilst we would have liked to release the Service Measure sooner, we are sure you will agree the resulting upgrade will provide peace of mind for our customers.

Unfortunately, a slight delay has arisen while our engineering partner Penso purchased the intellectual property rights for the rear wheel steer mechanism from One80. This has been a vital part of the process, as the sale has included access to the rear wheel steer software, which was written by an external company on behalf of One80.

With this in place, testing is due to be completed in November 2014. The Service Measure will then require sign off by Daimler and Transport for London and is expected to go live on 2 January 2015.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support and helping us to spread this update amongst your members.

With kind regards

Regards
Mick Glover
